All Aircommand Air Conditioners (except the Heron 2.2) are true reverse cycle units, meaning they will cool and also heat. While other brands use a heater elememt to "take the chill out of the air" for its heating function the Aircommand units operate more effectively and efficiently on reverse cycle. Our units can be used as a heater in ambient temperatures of (minus) -5 and provide maximum comfort although it is important to understand how the unit operates.
read moreAll refrigerated air conditioners will generate condensate, removing the moisture and reducing the humidity in the van. This condensate will run onto your roof through drainage holes on the bottom of the unit (or through drain hose to ground for the Herons). The Ibis is designed to re-use its condensate to assist in cooling the coils, with only the excess flowing on to the roof.
In warm humid conditions you may have experienced a build-up of condensation on your plenum or air handler. This is caused by excessive moisture in the air & the best way to keep this at bay is by ensuring you keep all windows, hatches & the door closed while your air-conditioner is running. Using a medium or high fan speed where possible is also recommended.
If you have any questions in relation to condensation or any other aspect of your air conditioner, send an email to sales@aircommand.com.au
