The use of Adobe Acrobat documents (pdf)

To view an Adobe Acrobat document you will need an Adobe Acrobat reader.

A significant amount of information is published on the web in this format so it is a useful program to have installed. It can be downloaded free from the Adobe web site.

To View the document

Once the Acrobat reader is installed you can click on the link to the document and Adobe Acrobat will load and display the document. Depending upon how Acrobat has been installed it will either open within your browser or as a separate window.

If you wish to print a copy of the document be sure to click the print button in the corner of the Acrobat reader window and not the print button of the browser.

To download the document

If you wish to download a copy of the document for viewing or printing off-line right click on the link and select Save Target As (Internet Explorer) or Save Link As (Navigator) and save the file to a suitable directory. Later, if you double click the file, the Acrobat reader should open and you can view or print the document from within the reader.

Note Adobe Acrobat files have the .pdf extension and are sometimes called pdf files.

Adobe and Acrobat are registered trade marks of the Adobe Systems Corporation.
